Gellar: Buffy Film Wouldn't Work
-Posted by: SummerAngel
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who gained fame as TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer, told SCI FI Wire that she doesn't think a big-screen version would work.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, from creator Joss Whedon, was itself a reboot of the flop 1992 movie of the same name that starred Kristy Swanson. "We had a lot to overcome on a TV show," Gellar said in an interview. "Everyone's like, 'Why would you do that?' So then to go back [to a movie] feels kind of hard."

Gellar Passionate About Alice
-Posted by: SummerAngel
Sarah Michelle Gellar told SCI FI Wire that she's still passionate about developing Alice, a movie based on the computer game American McGee's Alice, to which she owns the film rights. The game is based on Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
"It's a passion project of mine," Gellar (The Air I Breathe) said in an interview. "It's a story that I'd love to see. I'm fearful at this rate that I'm going to be the wicked Queen of Hearts because I'm going to be too old to be Alice," she added with a laugh.

Possession's Gellar Pie-Eyed
-Posted by: SummerAngel
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who will appear opposite Lee Pace in the supernatural thriller Possession, told SCI FI Wire she enjoyed working with the star of ABC's hit Pushing Daisies, who takes on a role quite different from that of his TV pie-maker.
"It's just this sort of weird and crazy dynamic between Lee and I that goes from hate to love and sort of back and forth," Gellar said in an interview. "It's pretty cool. It's small and contained. It's only about three characters."
Gellar plays a lawyer whose brother-in-law (Pace) is an ex-con who moves in with the newlyweds. Gellar's character does not get along with the husband's brother.

Air Inspired By Proverb, Oz
-Posted by: SummerAngel
Jieho Lee, director and co-writer of the fantastical movie The Air I Breathe, told SCI FI Wire that the urban fable takes its inspiration from a Chinese proverb and The Wizard of Oz.
"Yeah, there's the inspiration of The Wizard of Oz, with Brendan [Fraser] being the Tin Man, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Dorothy, Forest [Whitaker] as the Cowardly Lion and Kevin [Bacon] is the Scarecrow," Lee said in an interview. "On the other hand, you have this Asian proverb that says, regardless of who we are, we are connected by our emotions. We go out on our journey and find out who we are, and still we're individuals, but we come together on our journeys."

FREDDIE PRINZE JR and SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR have bought a new home in New York after the Latino actor fell in love with his wife's home city. The She's All That star had never really considered setting up a permanent home in the Big Apple until he made new movie Brooklyn Rules there - and now he's smitten with the city. Star says Grudge sequel much scarier
-Posted by: Quivi
Sarah Michelle Gellar has a warning for fans of The Grudge hanging out for the sequel - it's much scarier.
"From the start everyone agreed that this was scarier than the first movie - mainly because you get to meet the characters and know much more about them personally," the actress says.
"For example, the character of Allison, played by Arielle Kebbel, is someone the audience really gets to experience and learn what her life is about before she meets the Grudge."
Gellar plays a smaller part in The Grudge 2 but her character Karen is a vital link. ... Read More ...

Sarah continues to defy the odds
-Posted by: Quivi
Sarah Michelle Gellar hasn't looked back since making her name - and fortune - with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The determined young woman spoke to Lesley O'Toole.
Sarah Michelle Gellar has long defied the odds. When the former soap actress moved to Los Angeles, her then agent was hardly encouraging: "You'll never make it. Everyone leaves soaps and comes back."
Her new LA agent saw his client turn down every possibility with which he presented her for 18 months - until a TV pilot called Buffy the Vampire Slayer came along.
It made Gellar's fortune, of course. Buffy ran for seven series and earned her the sort of worldwide fame not normally enjoyed by television stars. ... Read More ...
